Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has two games to save his job, with former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti interested in taking over should the ‘special one’ be shown his marching orders at Stamford Bridge.
ESPN reports that a club source has informed them that defeats to Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday and against Stoke City at the Birtannia Stadium on Saturday could be decisive for the Portuguese boss.
Chelsea’s dismal form in the Premier League has seen them slip to 15th place following three wins in eleven games this season.
ESPN go on to report that while Blues owner Roman Abramovich would like to give Jose Mourinho more time, the recent 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool has led to the Russian making contact with the intermediaries of former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti.
It is understood that the Italian has told his representatives he is interested, even if that only means taking the job until the end of the season.
We will of course be keeping a close eye on developments at Stamford Bridge over the next week.
