First thing’s first: No, Selena Gomez didn’t revive those mesmerizing blue eye contacts for her new feature in Vogue magazine. In fact, the 23-year-old ditched the overt sultriness of her recent Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show look for a low-key beachside pic that proves she’s every bit a bombshell when going more natural.
In the new feature for Vogue’s December issue (the same one Jennifer Lawrence covers), Gomez poses on a picturesque beach modeling a Diane von Furstenberg chiffon top and matching skirt. Her wavy hair is pinned back in a half-up style and she wears natural, bronzed makeup — because who says you can’t enjoy a little sunshine in the middle of wintertime?!
In the accompanying piece, the “Same Old Love” singer hypes up her latest album, Revival, saying, “I haven’t been this proud of something since ‘Spring Breakers.’” (Which is saying a lot, because that 2012 comedy still holds up quite spectacularly.)
But as Vogue reminds us, there’s a lot more for Gomez to be excited about these days — she’s appearing as herself in the upcoming Ryan Gosling flick “The Big Short,” and her world tour begins in May. By her side through all the forthcoming craziness will be her mom, whom she says she calls everyday, and her BFF Taylor Swift, whom she adorably calls “my sister.” Awww.
