Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ Meets Selena Gomez’s ‘Hands To Myself’ In This Dreamy Mashup

At face value, Selena Gomez’s “Hands to Myself” and Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” might not seem like ideal mashup companions.
Maybe it’s because of the convoluted history between the two artists, but mostly,
they’re just wildly divergent: Selena’s sultry number finds her craving another person’s touch — and as we saw from the music video she just released, the more body, the better. Justin’s Purpose cut, on the other hand, is all about longing for someone’s forgiveness, and in his case, it’s about “more than just your body.”
But that shared, central theme of longing is what Australian singer Troye Sivan latched onto when he decided to give the two tracks a hazy mashup makeover. As his recently-released debut album proved, Troye knows a thing or two about heartache (see his video for “Wild” for more on that). And even though he sneaks a smile into his video — released Monday (Dec. 21) via “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” — the final cut ultimately sounds like it’d fit in on his Blue Neighbourhood.
Basking in a soft purple light, the 20-year-old fuses Selena and Justin’s standout singles for a dreamy, downtempo medley that gives off a weird lyrical juxtaposition but sounds so, so sweet. Check it out:
