MAN UNITED COULD FINISH 4TH AND STILL MISS OUT ON CL QUALIFICATION

There is an incredible scenario which could play out this season involving Manchester United, Man City and
Liverpool.

The Red Devils are currently fifth in the Premier League, four points behind Man City with six matches of the season remaining.

While most think it’s unlikely, Louis van Gaal’s men can still obviously finish the season in fourth place if everything goes their way.

And yet it’s possible that United finish 4th and STILL don’t qualify for the Champions League. That would happen if Man City finish in the fifth in the Premier League but they also win the Champions League.

Moreover, for the doomsday scenario to unfold for the Red Devils, Liverpool would also have to win the Europa League.

In that circumstance, Man City (as winners of the CL) and Liverpool (as winners of the EL) would both book spots in next season’s Champions League, while fourth spot in the Premier League would only gain entry into the Europa League.
