If Karim Benzema is convicted in Valbuena sextape scandal, Real Madrid will immediately sell striker [AS]

AS journalist Carlos Matallanas often produces intriguing tidbits in his Sunday column for AS and today is no different.

Matallanas touches upon the ongoing Karim Benzema-Mathieu Valbuena sextape scandal and it isn’t great news for the French striker.

Last week Benzema was questioned by French police over his involvement in the sextape scandal.

From various reports it seems likely that Benzema was either trying to help his friend and international team mate, or the Real Madrid hitman was aiding the blackmailers.

Throughout the affair so far, Benzema has been backed to the hilt by Real Madrid.

But, Matallanas reports today that if Benzema is found guilty, Real Madrid will look to sell the former
Lyon striker immediately.

AS also cite other sources which suggest that Benzema could even be sold in January.

Despite this high profile blot on Benzema’s profile, we suspect there will be many Premier League clubs eager to sign the Real Madrid striker on the cheap, should he be jettisoned from The Bernabeu.

Benzema has been training in recent days and appears to be closing in on full fitness to perhaps take part in Real Madrid v Barcelona, El Clasico, next Saturday evening.
